What can you offer us?

Your innovation will be evaluated by six criteria:

Entrepreneurship:  We believe in entrepreneurs as the indispensable engine of innovation.  We are looking for evidence of that you really understand the problem and have track record of getting things done.  We want to hear from first responders and community leaders as well as those who already self-identify as entrepreneurs.

Innovation:  We are looking for new approaches to old problems.  We have assembled a uniquely effective set of partners and resources and we want to apply them to ideas that are novel, powerful and challenging.

Implementation:  We want to work with you to transform your vision of how the world should be into an executable model for how it could be.   We believe that commercially self-sustaining models are essential for lasting, replicable change.  To get started, you need to have some sense that someone might pay for the value created by your innovation.

Impact: Implementation asks, “How will it work?”.  Impact asks, “If it works, will it make a difference?”.  We are looking for meaningful change in the safety of our citizens and communities.  We need you to be clear as to what the outcome could be and how you would measure it.

Engagement: How much can we help?  We want to know if  our unique partnership with the City of Philadelphia can be engaged to improve the likelihood of your success.  Moreover, we want to understand whether Philadelphia can support a market test of your innovation that we can help replicate in other urban centers.

Stage:  Our framework works best if the entrepreneurs are in a similar stage of development, where they can benefit the most from our intervention.  If its just a concept, you might not be ready to engage.  If you have over a $1mm in revenue or investment, you might not be open to change.

If accepted, you and your leadership team will be asked to commit to full participation in our accelerator cohort, convening at the Impact Hub in Philadelphia for 12 weeks, starting February 14th, 2014.  The commitment of the cohort members is the key to our success and we need decision-makers, not note-takers, engaged every step of the way.

How do we get together?

Our two step process begins with a simple screening form that can be accessed on the F6S platform.  F6S is a global network for entrepreneurs, accelerators, and investors that offers benefits to all of our applicants.

Applications that meet our core criteria may be invited to submit supplemental materials, interview with our staff and complete additional information on the City of Philadelphia’s eContract website.

The earlier we start getting to know each other, the more likely you will be to earn a place in the first FastFWD cohort.

Please email catherine@goodcompanygroup.org if you’re having any difficulty accessing the application platform. Questions about the program should be submitted via the discussion board on the application platform or emailed to story.bellows@phila.gov. All responses will be posted publicly
